REED McGOWAN (Facebook, MySpace)  began his music career in 1985 at The Bourbon Pub & Parade Disco in New Orleans, as one of their first DJ/VJs. In 1995, he established New York City as a permanent home and has enjoyed spinning in the company of many other DJ masters. His events have covered everything from fashion, fundraisers & charity events to circuit parties, private functions and cast parties. While many DJs & producers adhere to one “style”, Reed draws from an eclectic well of experience, and applies all that inspires him to create distinct moods for specific events. His sound has been described as adventurous, sexy and diverse, but with consistency & depth. It is an eclectic blend of mixed club genres that include: Mainstream, House, Progressive, Electronic, Tribal, Industrial, Indie, Rock, Soul and Dance/Disco/Classics.

The culmination of his experience has led him to the point where his production work is a testament to his ability, not only as DJ/Producer, but also as a songwriter. His creative momentum has led him to his own original Billboard charting productions, such as the classic “Resurrect Me” with singer Marty Thomas, which was signed on the famed West End label & nominated for a Grammy for Dance Music. In 2001 and also 2004, Reed was honored with two 1st place songwriting awards for the Billboard Magazine World Music Contest. These were among the many songs he has remixed & produced, resulting in several top 40 billboard dance singles. Reed’s own compositions have been remixed by such peers as: Hex Hector, Quentin Harris, Rich Morel, Tom Moulton, Edson Pride, Tony Moran, Twisted Dee, Warren Rigg, and more. His remix work & promo releases have included such artists as: Ari Gold, Carol Jiani, Grace Jones, Cyndi Lauper, Deborah Harry, Justice, Lady GaGa, Marty Thomas, Rihanna, Scissor Sisters, St. Etienne, Sylvia Tosun, The Presets, Ultra Nate, Young Love, and others.

In 2005, Reed was added to the respected panel of Billboard magazine reporters, and continues to build a broad following in all of his creative endeavors… including his most recent project entitled Empulse (a collaborative effort showcasing original music & video with special guest performers). Reed maintains his residency at the NYC Eagle and David Barton Gym, and makes regular appearances in New York City, the US, and abroad for major events. For more info, check out the links below:
